Katie Marie Strickland Wesley

DE FUNIAK SPRINGS — (Special) — Funeral services for Mrs. Katie M. Wesley, 77, who died at a local hospital after a long illness, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday [June 3, 1953] at the First Methodist Church in Point Washington with the Rev. J. T. Lane and the Rev. H. W. Rice officiating.

Burial will be In the Wesley Cemetery. Mrs. Wesley was a lifelong resident of Point Washington and an active member of the First Methodist Church there.

She is survived by four sons, Rupert C. Wesley, Atlanta, Ga., Guy H. Wesley, Jacksonville, Edgar P. Wesley, Tallahassee, Billy Wesley, DeFuniak Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Roy A. Burlison, Point Washington. and Mrs. K. R. Swinford, Gainesville; four brothers, Simeon Strickland, Albuquerque, N. M., Ian Strickland, Point Washington, Ora Strickland, Mississippi, and Russell Strickland, Point Washington; five sisters, Mrs. E. L. Rutan, Tampa, Mrs. Fred Mundy, Gadsden, Ala., Miss Julia Strickland, Abbieville, Ala., Mrs. Max Kilbourne, Point Washington, Miss Ellen Strickland, Point Washington, 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Willie Wesley, Gene Wesley. Jack Burlison. Buford Rachels, Sam Rachels and Ezra Caswell. Commander Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
