Kelly Lynn Mixon

Mr. Kelly Lynn Mixon, 50, died Monday, December 3, 2007 in DeFuniak Springs, FL after a sudden illness. He was born August 3, 1957 in Sulligent, AL to James Mixon and Virginia Rhudy Cowart. He grew up in the Quincy Community and he lived in Freeport, FL for over 20 years. He was employed in construction as a carpenter and he was presently working for the City of Freeport. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Freeport and he was an avid NASCAR fan and he enjoyed paint ball. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Dr. Roy McHenry and Bro. Shane Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Rudicell Cemetery in Marion County, AL. Survivors include his mother, Virginia Rhudy Cowart and her husband, Frank of Aberdeen; his father, James Mixon and his wife, Faye of Nettleton; one son, Zackery Lynn Mixon of Freeport, FL; two brothers, James Howard Mixon of Fayetteville, NC and Henry Tim Mixon of West Point; one half brother, Jeff Adkins of Austin, TX; one sister, Gail Brown of San Antonio, TX; and one grandchild, Chase Mixon. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening and will continue until service time on Saturday at the funeral home in Amory. Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
