Kenneth David Hill

Kenneth (Ken) David Hill, 62, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away April 3, 2008, at his home. He was born on September 12, 1945, in Wetherford, Okalahoma. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Jack D. Hill, Sr. and step-father, Lloyd J. Kilpatrick and his mother, Lena B. Kilpatrick. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Hill. His brothers, Jack D. Hill, Jr. and wife Dianne of Edmonton, Canada, Michael Kilpatrick and wife Rae of Yulee, Florida and his sister, Joan Stallworth and husband Barney of Quincy, Florida, and Laura DeRagon and husband Kenny of Callahan, Florida. He is survived by his closet friend, George (Buddy) Griffin and wife Irene of DeFuniak Springs. Kenneth is also survived by his mother-in-law La Vera Knowles, sister-in-law Carol Bane and husband William, brother-in-laws Richard Roberts and wife Linda and Michael Roberts, numerous nieces and nephews, friends, sister Betty Duke and husband Owen.

Kenneth was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, Florida, from the seventh grade until graduation from high school. He was trained in electronics in Miami and moved to Tampa, Florida. Kenneth worked for Peoples Gas Company/Teco Energy for over thirty years. He lived in Tampa for thirty-five years before moving to DeFuniak Springs. After moving to DeFuniak Springs, he worked for Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort before retiring due to illness. Kenneth is a member of the Center Ridge United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs. For six years, Kenneth and Linda sang as Alpha and Omega, singing Gods praises.

A time of visitation services will be held 3:00~5:00 PM, Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Clary-Glenn Funeral home, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Funeral services will be held at Center Ridge United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs, 1861 County Highway 1883, DeFuniak Springs, Florida, at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 7 , 2008. Burial will follow in the Center Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be sent to the Center Ridge United Methodist Church, 1861 County Highway 1883, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 or American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, Maryland 20852. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are: George Griffin, Karl Sunstrom, James Cook, Owen Duke, Shawn Bane and Bill Bane.
