Lewis Frank Cawthon, Sr., age 68, was found dead at his home Sunday morning, April 11, 1971. Cawthon, who resided at 105 Orange Avenue, was a member of the First Baptist Church, and was a former DeFuniak Springs City Councilman. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday from the Comander Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W. O. Wilham officiating. Entombment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie H. Cawthon, DeFuniak Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Mitchell, Pensacola, Mrs. Stella Margaret Gatlin, DeFuniak Springs, and Mrs. Elaine Couch, Eustis, Florida, a son, Lewis Frank Cawthon, Jr., DeFuniak Springs. There are two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Thompson, Tallahassee, and Mrs. Salome Richbourg, or Crestview.
Also surviving are five grandchildren.
