Mrs. Lucy Bell Neese, age 75, a resident of Route 2, DeFuniak Springs, was pronounced dead on arrival, at a local hospital, early Tuesday morning [April 20, 1971]. Mrs. Neese was a native of Covington County, Alabama, and was a former resident of Opp, Alabama, and of Hammond Indiana. She had moved here two days ago.
Survivors include her widower, Mr. Harrison Neese, of DeFuniak Springs; five daughters, Mrs. Blondell Prater, of DeFuniak Springs, Mrs. Katie Smith of Baker, Mrs. Lorene Davis of Macon, Ga., Mrs. Ellen Patterson, of Auburndale, Fla., and Mrs. Ina Lee Johnson, of Hammond, Indiana; four sons, Louis Neese of Auburndale, Fla., L. C. Neese, Columbia, Ga., James Lamar Neese, Hammond, Indiana, and Leon Neese, of Cedar Lake, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Ella Para Holloway of Opp, Ala.; 30 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m., from the Cluster Springs Church, with Ed Neally officiating. Burial followed in the Cluster Springs cemetery.
