Lulie E. Rushing

Mrs. Lulie E. Rushing, age 92, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away Dec.16, 2006 in Pensacola, FL. She was born May 7, 1914 in Walton County, FL to Early and Lacy Davis Wilson.

Mrs. Rushing had been a resident of Walton County most of her life. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Knoxhill Baptist Church. She worked as a welder in the shipyard in Panama City, Florida during WWII. She also was a cafeteria worker at the Valley View School. In her later years she enjoyed working in her yard, growing flowers, gardening and she also enjoyed crafts, fishing and spending time outside.

Mrs. Rushing was predeceased by her father and mother; her husband, Vessie Rushing, after 53 years of marriage; three brothers, and four sisters.

Mrs. Rushing is survived by her two sons, A.G. Rushing and wife, Irene, of Lynchburg, S.C. and Grady Rushing and wife, Sue, of Euchee Valley; one daughter, Syble Franklin of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren, Selena Locklear and husband, Walt, Brandon Rushing, Rhonda R. Merritt and husband, James, Bruce A. Rushing and wife, Sharon, Janice Fleming and husband, Keith, and Bobby Redmon; twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Rev. Glen Spence officiating.

Burial will follow in Red Bay Cemetery.
