Mark C. Jamison, Jr.

Mark C. Jamison, Jr., 78, a resident of DeFuniak Springs, FL, formerly of Allenwood, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2006, at the Chautauqua Rehab and Nursing Center in DeFuniak Springs. Jamison had fought to recover from a massive stroke that occurred in Oct. 2004.

He was born on March 12, 1928 in Allenwood, PA, the son of Mark and Ida Hill Jamison. He grew up in the Allenwood area, [served] in the army for four years, before returning home to work at the former Arrloet Corporation for 25 years. He then moved to Topeka, KS for the next 12 years working for Hankammers’ Ready Mix. He moved with Marjie, his wife of 52 years, to the northwest Florida area in 1989. Mark was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a great love for and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling, especially in Canada.

Jamison was [preceded] in death by his wife, Marjie in 2000, his brother, Harold from PA, in 1994 and his parents, Mark and Ida, from PA, in 1947.

Jamison is survived by his daughter, Pam Hetrick Murphy and husband, Roy Murphy, of DeFuniak Springs; two grandchildren, Rhonda Schooley Moses and husband, James Moses, of Pensacola, and Bryan Hetrick and friend, Janice O’Connell, of Tallahassee; three great-grandchildren, Erica Schooley Thomas, of Pensacola, Alphonso Moses, of Pensacola and Kiyomi O’, of Tallahassee.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; DeFuniak Springs, FL on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 10 a.m. Visitation will [be] at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m. prior to the services.

Internment will be in the Gum Creek Cemetery, Glendale, FL.
