Minerva Commander Giddens

Mrs. Minerva C. Giddens, age 78, died Saturday, January 15, 1972 in Titusville, Florida. She was a native of Walton County and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Titusville.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Giddens of Titusville; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Caine of West Palm Beach, Mrs. Ida Thorn of DeFuniak Springs and Mrs. Lillie Mae Griffin of Titusville; three sons, Wilmer Scott of West Palm Beach, [William] A. Scott of Ponce de Leon and Henry S. Scott of Pierson; two brothers, Virgil Commander of Pensacola and Dealeon Commander of Jacksonville; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Dan Scott of Bridge Creek, Mrs. Bessie Melvin of Freeport and Mrs. Ottie Gill of Titusville; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 17 in the Comander Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Billy Locke and Reverend Ollie Smith officiating. Burial was in the New Ponce de Leon [Cemetery].
