Minnie Myrle Campbell Davis

Mrs. Minnie [Myrle] Davis, age 86, of DeFuniak Springs passed away March 3, 2008. She was born August 29, 1921 in Geneva, Alabama to William and Lula Graham Campbell.

Mrs. Davis had lived most of her life in DeFuniak Springs. She was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the First Apostolic Church in DeFuniak Springs. She owned and operated Davis’ Grocery in DeFuniak Springs, on the corner of 23rd Street and Baldwin Avenue, in the early 50’s. She also worked as a care giver for many years. She was well known for her candy, coconut cakes, which were used for fund raisers for her church. She loved to fish, travel and spend time with her family.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clemmmis F. “Shorty” Davis, one son Earl Junior Davis, two brothers James Campbell, C. Boy Campbell, one sister Addie M. Campbell.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter Syble L. Alford and husband Adrian of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, two step-grandchildren Cindy Vestal of Arizona and James Richard Alford of Sparta, Georgia, three step great grandchildren Heather, Samantha and Hillary, two sisters Willie Jean Infinger and husband Willie Ray of West Palm Beach, Florida and Christine Adkinson and husband Bill of Pace, Florida, two sister-in-laws Mildred Davis and Sarah Campbell both of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

Visitation services will be conducted at 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David King officiating.

Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
