Minnie Ola Henderson

Mrs. Minnie Ola Henderson, age 85, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away December 10, 2007. She was born November 8, 1922 Covington County, Alabama to Byrd and Tressie Griggs Edwards.

Mrs. Henderson was a lifelong resident of Walton County. She was Church of God by faith and a member of the Beach Grove Church of God. She worked at Valley View School as a Lunchroom Cook and with Walton Middle School for over 20 years. She was a Certified Welder worker with the shipyard in Panama City, Florida. She finished her career as a Foster Parent, known by many for her loving care.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her father and mother, and the father of her children Bill Mitchem, her second husband Gordon Henderson, one sister Thelma Floyd, one brother Donald Edwards, one son Bo Mitchem, one daughter Charlene Mitchem, and one daughter-in-law Brenda Mitchem.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by her two sons Wayne Spur Mitchem of Ponce De Leon, Florida and Jackie Leon Mitchem and wife Andrea of Robertsdale, Alabama; one daughter Frances Arlene Bit Mitchem of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; two sisters Jessie Lee Montgomery of Euchee Valley, Florida and Evelyn Ward and husband Clinton of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 14, 2007 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Kenny Montgomery and Donald Ross officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Cemetery.

Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows Danny Montgomery, Tim Montgomery, Ernie Montgomery, Kennie Mitchem, Tracy Owens and Michael Bowers. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
