Monroe H. Prescott

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Monroe Hughie Prescott, 83, of Nelson Ave., died in a Tallahassee hospital Thursday morning.

He was a native and life-long resident of Walton County and had served as sheriff of Walton County in the 1930s. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in DeFuniak Springs.

Survivors Include two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Griffin and Mrs. Irene Davis, both of DeFuniak Springs; three brothers, H. L. Prescott and Dewey Prescott, both of DeFuniak Springs and Cleve Prescott of Evergreen. Ala.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Comander Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Kimbrough officiating. Burial will be In the Magnolia Cemetery with Comander Funeral Home directing.
