Nelma Watford

Nelma Watford, affectionately known as ‘Ms. Nell’, of Graceville, passed away, Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 24, 2006, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Brother Don Hadden and Rev. Jack Faircloth officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. ‘Ms. Nell’ was born in Hartford, AL, on October 17, 1938 to the late Louie D. and Thelma Birge Henderson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Watford; son Charles Wendell Watford; grandson Dylan Collins, and sister Myrle Faulk.

Watford is survived by four sons, James “Luke” Watford and wife, Janice, Steve Watford and wife, Judy, Bill Watford and wife, Lisa, and Wendell Watford, all of Graceville; three daughters, Brenda Scott and husband, Ray, of Eufaula, AL, Betty Dienes and husband, Bruce, of DeFuniak Springs, and Teresa Chambers and husband, Harold, of Graceville; five brothers, Rex Henderson and wife, Eunita, Wayne Henderson and wife, Vicky, Robert Henderson, Kenneth Henderson and wife, Maedale, all of Graceville, Jessie Henderson and wife, Norma, of Fadette, AL; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
