Mrs. Reba Jane Dennis, age 84, of Freeport, Florida passed away January 2, 2008 in Destin, Florida. She was born August 2, 1923 in Robinson, Illinois to Emil and Sarah Beal Hunter.
Mrs. Dennis was Church of God by faith and a member of the Freeport Church of God. She worked at the Council on Aging Lunch Site in Freeport for several years. She loved to crochet, and she enjoyed sharing her crocheted blankets with her family and friends. She loved going to church and serving the Lord. She organized her Church Bulletin Board and also cleaned the church.
Mrs. Dennis was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Cliffton Dennis, two grandsons, D.J. Haley and Patrick King, one great granddaughter Heather Saffell. Also by numerous brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Dennis is survived by her son Wayne Allen and wife Donna of Brattleboro, Vermont; four daughters Barbara Thompson and husband Allen of Indianapolis, Indiana, Janet Haley of Freeport, Florida, Ginni Langley and husband Danny of Robinson, Illinois and Jannie King and husband Jeff of Gulf Breeze, Florida; one brother Jim Hightshoe of Hutsonville, Illinois; one sister Joyce Spencer of Mississippi; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 Freeport, Florida 32439.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, with Reverends Butch Helms and Gary Lee officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
