Robert Curtis Slay

Robert Curtis Slay, 31, of Ponce de Leon, FL, passed away May 30, 2006. He was born May 16, 1975 to Leslie, and Mary Scott Slay.

Slay had lived most of his life in Walton and Holmes counties. He was Baptist by faith. He was employed at Perfection Unlimited Construction Company. He worked as a carpenter for over at years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and driving his truck. He was a very loving and caring man.

Slay was predeceased by his father, Leslie Slay Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Willie and Merlin Scott, and his paternal grandparents, Doc and Lorrene Slay.

Slay is survived by his parents, David and Mary Eddy, of Ponce de Leon; two daughters, Cheyenne Slay and Deanna Rhodes, and their mother, Tonya Rhodes, of Plant City, FL; sister, Angela Parson and husband, Mark, of Ponce de Leon; brother Leslie Slay Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Crawfordville, FL; sister, Amy Simmons and husband, Travis, of Caryville, FL; nephews, Alan Parson, Alex Parson, Ryan Kimber, and Stetson Simmons; nieces, Ashlee Parson, Gracie Slay, and Barbara Simmons. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 2, 2006, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry McGowan officiating.

Burial followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
