Roland Everett Miller

Roland Everett Miller, 94, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away Nov. 26, 2006 in Pensacola, FL. He was born July 10, 1912 in Royalton, NY to George and Lenora Pechuman Miller.

Miller had been a resident of Walton County for the past 30 years. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mossy Head. He was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

He was a life member of the VFW Post # 4437 in DeFuniak Springs, also a member of the DAV Chapter #98 in DeFuniak Springs. He worked as a machinist for Bell Aerospace for over 20 years. He was a HAM radio operator with the DeFuniak Springs HAM Radio Charter.

Miller was predeceased by his father and mother.

Miller is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane A. Miller, of DeFuniak Springs; one son, Charles Miller and wife, Jan of Herndon, VA; two daughters, Sharon Schmidl of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Linda Schulmeister of DeFuniak Springs; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Debra, Charles, Christine, David, Michael, Paul and Christopher, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006 at the VFW Post # 4437; 25 South 25th Street in DeFuniak Springs, with Rev. Bill Ferrand officiating.

Donations may be made to the VFW Post #4437 in Roland’s memory.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
