Ruby Carnley, 78, passed away in a Crestview, FL, health care facility on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007. She was a resident of the New Harmony Community in North Walton County, FL. A native of Jesup, GA, she was born Jan. 10, 1929, the daughter of the late Joe Reynolds Bargeron and Julia Irene Driggers Bargeron. She was the widow of the late Ezra Carnley who died in January 2000. They were married 56 years. She was an excellent cook and loved her grandchildren and her large, extended family.
Survivors are two daughters, Judy Kilpatrick and husband, Gerald, of Florala, JoAnn Nelson and husband, Edward, of Darlington; two sons, Ervin Carnley and wife, Connie, of DeFuniak Springs, Wayne Carnley, of Paxton; three brothers, Joe T. Bargeron and wife, Charlotte of Panama City, Jerry Lee Bargeron and wife, Marlon, of Atlanta, Dwight Bargeron and wife, Connie, of Jesup, GA, six sisters, Julia Ann Waters and husband, Everett, of Warner Robbins, Estelle Blankenship and husband, Bill, of Knoxville, Thelma Jackson, husband, James of Jesup, Lavern Nettles, of Jacksonville, Norma Woods and husband, Wayne, of Jesup, and Frances Austin and husband, Larry, of Ocala, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and a yet unborn grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Evans Funeral Home with Reverand Elaine Hagenbuch and Reverand Tonya Elmore officiating. Interment followed in the Paxton Cemetery.
