Shane Whalen, age 21, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away July 20, 2008. He was born February 5, 1987 in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
Shane had been a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Methodist by faith and a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church. He graduated form Freeport High School in 2005, he was a member of the band and he was Homecoming King his senior year. He graduated from Okaloosa Walton Community College on 2007 with a Associates Degree.
Shane is survived by his parents Sean and Linda Whalen and brother Jared Scott Whalen, grandparents Ed and Kim Yerby and Norman and Janet Huppert; uncles Ward and Rick Yerby; aunt Kay Yerby, cousins Kayce and Phagen Yerby and great grandmother Jane Marie Fogt.
A time of visitation will be held 9:30-11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Satterwhite and Reverend Ed Chandler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery.
