Stella Brown

Mrs. Stella Brown, 85, of Eucheeanna, died peacefully at her home with family at her side following a brief illness Monday, November 13, 2006. She was born March 7, 1921 in Eucheeanna, the daughter of George Walker (G.W.) Bray and Melvina Leavins Bray. She was a life-long resident of Walton County.

Mrs. Brown worked as a domestic housekeeper until retiring in 1975. She enjoyed quilting, cooking for her family, watching wrestling and westerns on T.V. and occasionally an early spring soap making with her sisters. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Joseph E. Brown; her brothers, Melfred, Merritt and John; her sisters, Myrtle, Annie and Clara Bell; and one great grandson, Ryan Amason.

Among survivors are her son, Wayne Brown, and wife, Teresa of Eucheeanna; her grandsons, Joey Brown, Danny Brown, and wife, Christina, and Spencer Amason; granddaughters, Mary Jeanne Sewalish and husband, Richard, and Amy Madden and husband, Charlie. Nine great grandchildren also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, may be made in Mrs. Brown’s memory to Walker’s Rest Cemetery, 1739 Redhill Road, Ponce de Leon, Florida 32455.

A time of visitation was held Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Graveside services were Friday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at Walker’s Rest Cemetery in Eucheeanna, only a stone’s throw from her place of birth and death. Directions to the cemetery can be heard by calling the funeral home’s automated telephone at 951-1230.
