Thomas Caril Dorriety

Thomas Caril Dorriety, 72, formerly of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Houston, TX, died Monday, May 29, 2006, at his sister’s home in Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

Dorriety was born July 23, 1933, in DeFuniak Springs, FL, a son of the late Dewey F. and Ruth Fulford Dorriety. On May 16, 1978, he was married to Sharon L. Slater, who preceded him in death on March 2, 2005.

He is survived by two daughters, Sondra Sims and husband, Gary, of Henderson, NV, and Kathy Bailey and husband, Joe, of Beaumont, TX; three step-daughters, Christina Schoenle and husband, Gregg, of Katy, TX, Julie Rezzoffi and husband, Sam, of Houston, TX, and Carolyn Martinez and husband, Mario, of Beaumont, TX; a step-son, Eric Slater and wife, Holly, of Holts Summit, MO; one brother, Bob Dorriety and wife, Ann, of DeFuniak Springs, FL; two sisters, Betty Burgess of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Jeanette Lippman, of Maryland; fourteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Dorriety was preceded in death by a -step-daughter, Pam S. Slater on June 24, 1983.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4, 2006, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit, MO.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at the Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, TX.
