Verbena Holland, 69, passed away June 7, 2006. She was born Oct. 15, 1936 in Portland, FL, to James and Ola Crowder Pitts.
Holland had been a life-long resident of Walton County. She was Protestant by faith. She drove a school bus for the Walton County School System for over 14 years. She loved to fish and hunt.
Holland was predeceased by her father, mother, and husbands, Odis Brown, Henry Holland, and one brother, Falcon Pitts.
Holland is survived by her companion, Terry Dickey, of Freeport; son, Jimmy Brown and wife, Nancy, of Freeport, FL; two step-daughters, Tobi Vandervort and husband, Todd, of Pennsylvania and Sherri McGill and husband, Steve, of Maryland; two sisters, Hilda Turner and husband, Bobby, of Freeport, and Katrina Harrison, of Pensacola, FL; 17 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friend, Nikki Croxton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Anthony Cuchens officiating.
Burial followed in the Hatcher Cemetery.
