Winnifred Ziel Anderson, age 84, of Glen Oaks Manor Drive, Sarasota, Fla., died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1992, in a Sarasota hospital.
Mrs. Anderson was a native of Stonewall, Manitoba, Canada. Winn moved to Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., from Canada in 1934 where she met and married John H. Ziel. Following Johnny’s death in 1971 she met and married Victor Anderson in 1973 and remained in Santa Rosa Beach until they moved to Sarasota in 1984.
During her 50 years in the Santa Rosa Beach area she was a grocery store owner and operator, and was active in her community and church activities.
Survivors include her husband, Victor A. Anderson of Sarasota; Winona “Noni” and Dr. Jose T. Sanchez Jr. of Arcadia, Fla., and Shirley Ziel and Judge Vincent T. Hall of Lakeland, Fla.; sister, Anne “Sims” Craichton of Canada; and grandchildren, Josie T. Sanchez III of Key West, Fla., Diana Sanchez Vincent of El Cahon, Calif., and LuWinn Sanchez of Sunrise, Fla.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in Community Church in Santa Rosa Beach with the Rev. Bob Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Gulf Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Community Church of Santa Rosa Beach, P.O. Box 1723, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 34232.
