Charles Redmon, 78, of Leonia, FL passed away June 25, in Geneva, AL. He was born Jan. 19, 1928 in Darlington, FL to Charley and Nancy Matthews Redmon.
Redmon had been a life-long resident of Holmes County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Darlington Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the United States Navy, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He retired from the United States Air Force with over 22 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM # 24 in Albany, Georgia.
Redmon was predeceased in death by his father and mother; one son, Philip Redmon, and one grandson, Mark Redmon.
Redmon is survived by his wife, Estine E. Redmon, of Leonia, FL; two daughters, Annice Redmon Owens, of Dothan, AL, and Marie White and husband, Tommy, of Dothan; two brothers, Quiton J. Redmon and wife, Sybil, of Vernon, FL, and John W. Redmon and wife, Sonny, of Warner Robbins, GA; one sister, Mary Agnes Grant, of Geneva, AL; four grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at the Darlington Baptist Church, with Revs. Frank McIntosh and Terry Smith officiating.
Burial was in the Darlington Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors at graveside.
