Leighton Malone Vincent Sr, passed away in his home, February 15, 2006. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, on March 5, 1922,to John G. Vincent Sr, and Ida E. Peebles Vincent.
He was Episcopal by faith. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville. He served as a life guard on Jacksonville Beach as a teenager and served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in the Burma/China conflict. He retired from the Department of Transportation and moved to DeFuniak Springs, where he had resided for the last seventeen years.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, John G. Vincent Jr, Sidney P. Vincent, and sister Ida Evelyn Vincent; wives, Mary Elizabeth Pancoast, and Viola F. Holland.
He is survived by wife, Nancy McDonald Vincent, and one son, Leighton Malone Vincent Jr, and one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Vincent, plus two grandsons, two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.
Memorialization was by cremation. A memorial service was held on February 27, at Westside Baptist Church.
