Randolph Theodore Adams

[Randolph] “Ted” Theodore Adams, 65, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, passed away Sept. 1, 2006 in Birmingham, AL. He was born July 15, 1941 to Curtis and Verlon Reeves Adams.

Adams had been a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs. He owned and operated his own cattle ranch for over 35 years. He also worked as an agriculture consultant helping other ranches in the area. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was always willing to share his knowledge and wisdom with others in need.

Adams was predeceased by his father and mother, two brothers, Lavon Adams, and one infant brother.

Adams is survived by his wife, Jan Adams, of Glendale, FL; four sons, Joey Adams and wife, Lesa, of Live Oak, FL, Mike Adams and wife, Cathy, of Center Hill, FL, Brock Dietz and wife, Amy, of Tallahassee, FL, and Joel Dietz and wife, Julie, of Big Stone Gap, VA; one brother, Jack Dewitt Adams and wife, Velma, of Laurel Hill, FL; one sister, Emma Jewel Massoni, of Shalimar, FL; nine grandchildren, Kyle Adams, Cody Adams, DeWayne Adams, Curtis Adams, Raley Adams, Alli Dietz, Hailee Dietz, Emma Dietz and Westin Dietz. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, in DeFuniak Springs, with Rev. Jerry Chumley officiating.

Donations may be made in Ted’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Burial followed in Glendale Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
