Irvin Garodnick

Mr. Irvin Garodnick, age 93, of Freeport, Florida passed away Monday, October 8, 2007 in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He was born February 1, 1914 in Newark, New Jersey to William and Anna Garodnick.

Mr. Garodnick was a resident of Freeport and a Christian by faith, saved by the Grace and Blood of Jesus Christ, raised in the Jewish tradition and a member of the Freeport First Baptist Church. He received his Masters of Science Degree from North Carolina State University, he taught Sunday School, he was also very active in the Walton County Baptist Association. He was a member of the Freeport Lions Club, having served as President and held many offices.

Mr. Garodnick was preceded in death by his father and mother and wife Mary Elizabeth Garodnick.

Mr. Garodnick is survived by his sons William R. Garodnick and wife Carol Ann of Commack, New York and Max H. Garodnick and wife Gladys of Freeport, Florida; seven grandchildren Mary Ann Skelly and husband Stan, Max Garodnick Jr., William Richard Garodnick, Shirley Ann Farrington, Ruth Ann Hallin and husband Richard, Richard William Garodnick and wife Anita and Judith Ann Cavallo and husband Steven; three great grandchildren Paul Carpenter, Julie Ann Farrington and William Taylor Garodnick.

A time of visitation will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, October 11 2007 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 Freeport, Florida 32439. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Freeport First Baptist Church; 430 Kylea Laird Drive Freeport, Florida 32439, with Reverends Dennis Pledger and Kenneth Coots. Pallbearers will be as follows Pete Bennett, Tony Buxton, George Farrington, Easy Camara, Morris Helms, and Aubrey Rentz. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Finch, William “Willy” Garodnick and Max “Mickey” Garodnick Jr. Floral arrangements are being accepted, or donations may be made to the Freeport First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hatcher Cemetery.
