James Ralph Sutton, 69, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006 in Ponce de Leon, FL. He was born-on June 26, 1936 in Ponce de Leon, to Elmer Sutton and Elvie Ammons Sutton.
Sutton was a life long resident of Holmes County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ponce de Leon where he served as an elder and choir director. He was known as a faithful servant of the Lord and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Sutton is survived by his wife, Voncille Sutton, two sons, Johnny and Aubrey Sutton, and one daughter, Judy Pratt, all of Ponce de Leon. He is also survived by two brothers, Randy Sutton, of DeFuniak Springs, and Sammy Sutton, of W.V.; two sisters, Joyce Lambert, of Andalusia, AL, and Sylvia Rushing, of Red Bay, FL, and seven grandchildren, Jamie Sutton, Desirae Pratt, Heidi Campbell, Rena Sloan, Micheal Sullivan, Joseph Sullivan, and Michele Sullivan.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Ponce de Leon, with the Revs. Greg Alford and Jessie Spiers officiating.
Burial followed in the Ponce de Leon Cemetery.
