Jimmie Lee Kuykendall

Mr. Jimmie Lee Kuykendall, age 71, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida passed away January 10, 2008 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. He was born January 30, 1936 in Campbell, Arkansas to Willis and Adar Kuykendall.

Mr. Kuykendall was a resident of Santa Rosa Beach and he was Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving his country in the United States Army; He graduated from Walton High School. He received his Bachelors Degree in Criminology from the University of West Florida. He worked as a State Police Officer with the Florida Marine Patrol, for over 25 years, he also worked with the Walton County Sheriffs Department for 5 years. He enjoyed staying at his second home in Timbo, Arkansas, where he enjoyed the mountains.

Mr. Kuykendall was preceded in death by his father and mother, one son Jimmie Paul Kuykendall, one daughter Rose Elaine Kuykendall, one grandson Joey Allen Kuykendall, two sisters Neldine Fuller, Beatrice Boardemen and one brother Robert Kuykendall.

Mr. Kuykendall is survived by his wife of 45 years Nellie Mitchem Kuykendall; sons Ronald Yaun and wife Debbie of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Chris Kuykendall and wife Sallie of Shirley, Arkansas and Willis Kuykendall and wife Rhea of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and daughter Kimberly Hoffman and husband Robert of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, grandson Ronald Clemmons of Sulfur, Louisiana, Garrett and Blair Yaun of Louisiana, granddaughters Trista Cordell, Tabitha Duffell and Sheena Deisler of FT. Walton Beach, Florida, Kiona Kuykendall, Kristen Kuykendall and Kcy Kuykendall of Shirley, Arkansas, Eden and Tula Hoffman of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, great-grandsons Ethan Clemmons of Sulfur, Louisiana and great granddaughters Patience and Jasmine Cordell.

A time of visitation will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 Freeport, Florida 32439.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Gulf Cemetery, with Reverend Horace McCormick officiating. Burial will follow with military honors.

Floral arrangements are being accepted.
