Mr. Lawrence Dickey, age 69, of Freeport, Florida passed away November 20, 2007, in Destin, Florida. He was born July 7, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois to Lonnie Russell and Gilberta McKay Dickey.
Mr. Dickey was a resident of Freeport and was Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving his country in the USAF. He graduated from Gulf High School in New Port Richey, Florida. He worked as a carpenter on the High Rise Buildings in Chicago, Illinois. He also was a 35-year member of the Alcoholics Anonymous and one of the Founders of the Freeport Trouble Makers Group.
Mr. Dickey was preceded in death by his father and mother, his wife, Bonnie Dickey one son, Larry Dickey and one brother Russell Dickey.
Mr. Dickey is survived by one son, Raymond Dickey of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and one brother, Thomas Dickey and wife Edna of New Port Richey, Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
A time of visitation will be held at 9:00~10:00 AM, Friday, November 23, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 Freeport, Florida 32439. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 23, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplin Thomas Dickey officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery with Military Honors. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
