Mary Alice Hudson, 78, departed this life Monday, May 15, 2006, in Lakeland, FL, at the home of her daughter, Shirley. She was born October 1, 1927 in Covington County, AL, the daughter of the late Buie Hart and Sue Faye Smith Hart. She married William Hudson who preceded her in death, November 17, 1988. A son, William, also passed away in 1982.
Hudson loved her family and took great joy in sharing with them efforts of her love. She had moved to her daughter’s home several years ago when she suffered from ill health. She was a member of the Clear Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeannie Hudson Tizekker, and husband, Ted, of Crestview, FL, Peggy Hudson Clark, and husband, Farrell, of Opp, AL, Shirley Hudson McClintock, and husband, Harry, of Lakeland, FL; two sisters, Frances Courtney, of Paxton, FL and Gracie Gillman, of Pace, FL; four brothers, Harold Hart, of Atlanta, GA, Millard Hart, of Florala, AL, Grady Hart, of Birmingham, AL and Johnny Hart, of Winter Haven, FL; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 18, 2006, at Evans Funeral Home, Florala, AL, with Reverend Bill Edwards officiating. Interment followed in the Paxton Cemetery.
