Randle E. Lawrence, 82, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, passed away May 18, 2006 at his residence in DeFuniak Springs. He was born Sept. 7, 1923 in Covington County, AL to Steve and Elizabeth Lawrence.
Lawrence had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs, FL for the past 51 years. He was Baptist by faith and a member of East Baptist Church. He worked as a meat cutter since 1946, having worked at Jitney Jungle, Twin Lakes Superette, Piggly Wiggly and Thriftway Supermarket. He owned and operated Randle’s Market and Grocery. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lawrence was predeceased by his father and mother; wife, Varah Lawrence; three brothers, Dick, Albert and Jimmy, and two sisters, Mag Evans and Deal Lawrence.
Lawrence is survived by his two sons, Eugene Lawrence and wife, Tammy, and Tony Lawrence and wife, Kay; daughter, Patsy L. Register, all of DeFuniak Springs; brother, Carlos Lawrence and wife, June, of Tampa; sister, Emma Belcher, of Lockhart, AL; five grandchildren, Kimberly Register and boyfriend, Lance Roe, Kelcie, Zack, Mark, and Megan Lawrence.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Revs. Bill Willcox, and Tony Dixon officiating.
Pallbearers were Danny Edwards, David Chandler, Roy Lawrence, Larry Brown, Westley Register and William Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Whiddon, J.W. Adkison, Roy Lawrence, R.J. Brown, Teddy DeShazo, Leonard Johnson, and Johnny Irvine.
Burial followed in the Magnolia Cemetery.
