Victor Henry Cuchens

Victor Henry “V.H.” Cuchens, 70, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 1993, in a Pensacola hospital.

Mr. Cuchens was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid Bible scholar and Sunday School teacher for many years. He loved to talk about our Lord and expound the Word. He was always glad when the Sabbath came so he could go to the house of the Lord. He was a member and deacon of the Southwide Baptist Church.

He retired from Danley Furniture Company after 42 years, of which he was manager for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Willie Dee Cuchens; two sons, V. Henry Cuchens Jr. and wife, Charlotte, and Edwin Earl Cuchens and wife Beverly; grandsons, Donnie Cuchens, Shawn Cuchens, Kennie Cuchens, David Cuchens, Terry Cuchens and Joshua Luke Cuchens; granddaughters. Darby Cuchens and Victoria Cuchens; two great-granddaughters, Shala and Krysten Cuchens, all of DeFuniak Springs; two sisters, Lorene Howell of Freeport and Evelyn Jones of Portland; two brothers, Kyier Cuchens and Eugene Cuchens of Freeport; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, at the Southwide Baptist Church with Bro. Douglass Hogg and Bro. Bill Bricker officiating.

Interment will follow in the Southwide Church Cemetery with Clary-Godwin Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Cuchens grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Southwide Baptist Church.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be sent to the Southwide Baptist Church building fund.
