Mrs. Ruby Downey, age 77, of DeFuniak Springs passed away February 12, 2008. She was born September 4, 1930 in Robertsville, Alabama.
Mrs. Downey had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs. She was Baptist by faith and she was affiliated with the Caryville Evangelistic Center. She loved gardening and growing flowers, she also enjoyed puzzles and taking care of animals.
Mrs. Downey was preceded in death by her parents, and by the father of her children Clarence C. Sheets Sr. and two daughters Deborah Fields and Carolyn Sheets, one son Billy Ray Panell, one grandson Christopher Atchison, three brothers Billy Sanders, Joe Sanders and Johnny Sanders; four sisters Gussie Wilson, Esther Stevens, Ruth Sanders and Willie Sanders.
Mrs. Downey is survived by her children Clarence Sheets Jr. and wife Ann of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Frances Sheets of Pensacola, FL, Catheryn Wright and husband Lester of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Ellen Atchison and husband Fred of Salitpa, AL, three step children Earl Sheets and wife Matte of Mobile, AL, Shirly Manning of Vernon, FL and William Sheets and wife Ruby of Bayminette, AL, 19 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.
Visitation services will be conducted at 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, February 14 , 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 15, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Reverend Wayne Brannon officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bobby, Brian, Travis, Chad, Larry, Jeff, Ben and Ricky. Honorary Pallbearer will be Christopher Sheets. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
