Laura Kathryn McDonald

Mrs. Kate McDonald, age 79, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away December 15, 2007. She was born June 9, 1928 in Darlington, Florida to William Acey and Florence Jones Royals.

Mrs. McDonald was a resident of DeFuniak Springs. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs. She owned and operated Twin Lakes Beauty Salon for over thirty -three years.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband of 50 years Foyest “Hooks” McDonald and one brother William Earl Royals.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her daughter Debbie Richards and husband Mike of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, her sons Bill McDonald and wife Carol Magmer of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Bob McDonald of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, four grandchildren Emilee Prater and husband Tony, Megan Harrison and husband Kris and Chase and Carly McDonald; two great-grandchildren Preston and Parker Prater, sisters Maxine Padgett of Ponce De Leon, Florida and Hazel Willine Crews of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, brother Byron G. Royals and wife Marianne of Tallahassee, Florida, two sister-in-laws Colleen McDonald and Jeanette McDonald of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, also survived by several nieces and nephews and special friend Barbara Hicks.

A time of visitation will be held at 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 18 , 2007 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Chumley officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Ponce De Leon Cemetery.

Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows Bruce Butts, Don Butts, Larry Geoghagan, James Coffield, Randall Griner and Bruce Wilkinson.

Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs Building Fund at 216 East Live Oak Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
